President of Asia Club
Anna Aiko Birrer
Anna is an inquisitive and dedicated individual with a transcultural mindset. A Chinese Government Scholarship enabled her to attend the Mandarin and culture courses at the Minzu University of China in Beijing. Highly fascinated by the Chinese culture – and amazed of its unique food culture –, she began her studies in Sinology and East Asian Art History at the University of Zurich. After successfully graduating, she transferred to the University of St. Gallen where she is currently pursuing her second degree in International Affairs. As President of the Asia Club, she is looking forward to co-hosting insightful and inspiring events together with the whole team!

Sabrina Domenig
Sabrina is a creative individual who has been fascinated by Asian culture since she was three years old, being gifted a tangerine cake in Hong Kong for her birthday. In recent years, her fascination grew more substantiated as she started learning the Chinese language and recently completed an internship in Singapore. Sabrina is currently studying International Affairs in her third semester at the University of St. Gallen and is active as President of Asia Days, as well as Vice President of Asia Club. She is looking forward to an interesting year where members can discover, experience and connect with Asia and bridges between professionals and students will be built at the Asia Days 2023.

Eesha Janjua
Growing up with two Indian parents Eesha has always had ties to Asia. Her parents were born and raised in the UK, which led to her experiencing a limited amount of the Indian and Asian culture in general growing up. However as she grew older her curiosity for her Asian roots grew. This lead to her not only joining the Asia club at HSG, but also engaging with more Asian culture in her free time. She is now in her final semester at HSG and as the Head of Events hopes to organise a very exciting and culturally rich semester.

Niklas Nölle
Asia has always been fascinating for Niklas due to the great food and technological innovation among other things. Hence, an internship in South Korea only further ignited his enthusiasm and passion. He currently pursues his Masters in General Management at the University of St. Gallen and will, as a CO-Head of Events, organize fantastic events where everyone can have a great time and learn more about Asia.

Lena Schläppi
Being half Thai and raised in Thailand her whole life, coming to study at HSG was a big change for Lena. Yet, she was able to connect with fellow Asian students and people interested in Asian culture through the various Asia Club events. She has always loved Asian culture; from Japanese food being her favorite cuisine, to loving K-drama and K-pop, and traveling to many places in Asia. She is currently in her second year at the University of St. Gallen, studying Business Administration. As the Head of Marketing for Asia Club, she will work hard to reach out to people interested in Asian culture.

Patrick Steger
With his background as a Swiss born Swiss-Thai Patrick is very much familiar with both the European, as well as the Asian culture. Growing up in such an environment has allowed him to learn the essentials of Thai traditions, cuisine and language from an early age. Patrick is currently studying Business Administration and is very interested in the Asian finance industry and business culture. As Head of Public Relations he will maintain and expand the Asia Club network as well as he will keep you students up to date on what is going on in Asia and what events are coming up in the Asia Club.

Japika Gupta
Born and brought up in India, the land of diversity, Japika has been exposed to multiculturalism since her childhood. She enjoys talking to people from diverse ethnicities and lifestyles. She believes that such interactions introduce her to a world of distinct ideologies and perspectives. Now, she has joined the HSG Asia Club to explore and learn about the various Asian cultures and business environment through its joyful and insightful events while staying in the Central Europe. As a Finance (MBF) student, and the Head of Finance of Asia Club and Asia Days, she is thrilled to organise an eventful Asian year through optimisation of funds along with the team for Asians and Asia lovers.

Justus Felkel
Growing up in Switzerland in the canton of St. Gallen, Justus has a mainly European background. His love for Asian cuisine sparked his interest for Asia. By travelling to several Asian countries in 2018, his fascination for the continent grew. He is currently studying Economics in his second year at the University of St. Gallen. As Head of IT for both the Asia Club and Asia Days, Justus is looking forward to an exciting year to come.

Valerie Meiner
Born to a Filipino mother and a Swiss father, Valerie’s personal connection to Asia has been established since day one. Her goal to work in East and Southeast Asia one day started after living in Beijing for 4 years, pushing her to take Mandarin classes. She is also passionate about literature, anime, Asian cuisine, and global politics. Starting her third semester at HSG as an International Affairs student, she will also be assuming the position of Head of Speakers for Asia Days and is looking forward to making the coming Asia Days the best yet.

Jenni Vuong
Jenni has a background as a Vietnamese who was born in Switzerland, therefore she is well-versed in both Western and South-East-Asian culture. Jenni was able to grasp the fundamentals of Vietnamese traditions, cuisines, and languages at a young age. She is currently studying Business Administration in her third year at the University of St. Gallen. As Head of Marketing for Asia Days, Jenni is looking forward to letting her creativity run its free course.

Isabelle Umbricht
Born and raised in Asia, Isabelle has always been deeply rooted and interested in Asian culture, especially in discovering and enjoying the abundance of Asian foods. Growing up in Taipei, Shanghai and Hong Kong, her exposure blossomed an ambition to understand fundamentals of Asian political, cultural and business environments. Upon joining Asia Club in her first year, she was ecstatic to find peers with the same passion and enjoyment in Asia and its individualities. In her third semester at HSG studying Business Administration, Isabelle is enthusiastic to be working as Head of Sponsoring.

Tristan Löw
Making friends in high school from different Asian countries and getting in contact with their cuisine and culture, his interest in Asia as a Region grew. This interest only further grew when attending the events of the Asia Club in St.Gallen where he got to meet people active in Asian business and politics sharing their experiences. He aims to explore the different cultures of Asia and loves to travel the world. As Head of Logistics for the Asia Days 2023, Tristan is excited to coordinate with the team and make the Conference a thought-provoking experience.

Chiara Eberle
Travelling to different Asian countries aroused Chiara’s interest in this continent. Seeing all these different kinds of cultures and cuisines encouraged her to attend the valuable events of the Asia Club in St. Gallen, which has led to new connections and a never-ending travel list. As Co-Head of Events, Chiara is looking forward to organizing insightful and fun events where like-minded people can get together or just get an idea of the Asian culture.
