One Board - Two Teams
To ideally divide our focus and create the best events possible, the Asia Club Board is split into two teams with different focus areas: the Asia Club Team organizes the events throughout the semester, whereas the Asia Days Team is responsible for the Asia Days conference.
President of Asia Club
Anna Aiko Birrer
Anna is an inquisitive and dedicated individual with a transcultural mindset. A Chinese Government Scholarship enabled her to attend the Mandarin and culture courses at the Minzu University of China in Beijing. Highly fascinated by the Chinese culture – and amazed of its unique food culture –, she began her studies in Sinology and East Asian Art History at the University of Zurich. After successfully graduating, she transferred to the University of St. Gallen where she is currently pursuing her second degree in International Affairs. As President of the Asia Club, she is looking forward to co-hosting insightful and inspiring events together with the whole team!
Vice President of Asia Club & President of Asia Days
Sabrina is a creative individual who has been fascinated by Asian culture since she was three years old, being gifted a tangerine cake in Hong Kong for her birthday. In recent years, her fascination grew more substantiated as she started learning the Chinese language and recently completed an internship in Singapore. Sabrina is currently studying International Affairs in her third semester at the University of St. Gallen and is active as President of Asia Days, as well as Vice President of Asia Club. She is looking forward to an interesting year where members can discover, experience and connect with Asia and bridges between professionals and students will be built at the Asia Days 2023.
Head of Events of Asia Club
Growing up with two Indian parents Eesha has always had ties to Asia. Her parents were born and raised in the UK, which led to her experiencing a limited amount of the Indian and Asian culture in general growing up. However as she grew older her curiosity for her Asian roots grew. This lead to her not only joining the Asia club at HSG, but also engaging with more Asian culture in her free time. She is now in her final semester at HSG and as the Head of Events hopes to organise a very exciting and culturally rich semester.
Co-Head of Events of Asia Club
Asia has always been fascinating for Niklas due to the great food and technological innovation among other things. Hence, an internship in South Korea only further ignited his enthusiasm and passion. He currently pursues his Masters in General Management at the University of St. Gallen and will, as a CO-Head of Events, organize fantastic events where everyone can have a great time and learn more about Asia.
